Discover FIQCU

Learn about our mission, mandate and core activities in ensuring Seychelles’ fishery products meet the highest quality and safety standards.

What is FIQCU?

The Fish Inspection and Quality Control Unit (FIQCU) is the Seychelles Competent Authority (CA) which performs all the official controls on fish and fishery products’ sanitary conditions for export purposes. It issues health certificates for every consignment exported from Seychelles to any destination.

Established under the Export of Fishery Products Act, 1996 (and its subsidiary legislations), FIQCU gained EU Competent Authority status in 1999. Since then, it has ensured that every shipment adheres strictly to both national and European sanitary regulations.
